LASER UPDATE: Mini Project - Stars and Star-Trim
We have been playing with getting the settings just right for our new laser cutter in preparation for offering custom laser cutting services to anyone who wants to add amazing latex overlays to their work.
We now fully understand why so few laser cutting businesses will cut latex for designers… The smoke is very stinky (we have a multi-thousand dollar filtration system in place to scrub the air to clean and breathable again) and the latex leaves a goopy residue on the sheeting and the laser bed when cut. So there is set up, clean up, and equipment needs to cut latex properly. Not every laser cutting house will be able to handle this, or want to do the work once they know how tricky it is.
That said, we’ve got it pretty much nailed down now. We are just working on the details for setting pricing for custom work and developing some stock overlays for general sale. We should have that online in the next week.

New product: A total enclosure hood with tiny laser cut breathing holes that allow for easy breathing, but are practically invisible! It looks like TOTAL enclosure, without the asphyxia!
This is also leading the way for our new series of hood designs. We have spent YEARS perfecting our hood pattern to avoid those unsightly wrinkles on the forehead/top of head that most other brands suffer from. These fit flush and smooth to the face and head like a glove. A head glove… a rubber head-glove!
